Neighbors show their support for the Planter Project

This past week was super busy with neighbors getting together to prep the median ends for gravel delivery, drilling extra drain holes in the planters and spreading new gravel donated by Salmon Bay Sand & Gravel in the median ends at NW 60th.

The fun continues this week. I encourage you to look through our photos on our flickr photostream, see how much fun everyone is having and pledge to participate in our events this week.

If you’d like to support our project, but don’t have the time to volunteer, consider making a tax deductible donation.

Upcoming Events:

  • Thursday April 15th 8am-10am Planter Placement
Meet at Blowing Sands Glass 5805 14th Ave NW
We need several strong volunteers to help us move the 100 lb planters from a storage area on 14th to their designated locations in the median ends. Bring pickup trucks and trailers if you have them. Please RSVP at eastballard@gmail.com or 206-953-3940.
  • Saturday April 17th 10am-1pm April Day Out Planting and Adopt A Street Cleanup
Sign in at Blowing Sands Glass 5805 14th Ave NW
This will be a fun event for the whole family! Join your neighbors in helping keep our neighborhood streets clean and beautiful. Admire the new planters and  get your hands dirty by doing a little planting thanks to plants donated by Swanson’s Nursery and neighbors. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring gardening tools. We’ll also be doing median end prep for gravel delivery. We could use a few pick mattocks, if you have them.
