March 18, 2015 – EBCA Monthly Meeting Minutes

Present:  Dawn, Andrew, Stephanie, Shannon, Peter, Linda, Ellen, Charlie, Aaron, Zack
Location: Steph and Zack’s house

ADOPT A STREET CLEANUP ON 14th AVE NW
Date set for 4.25 – 10-1p
Shannon will get food and coffee from Ballard Market and get the logos sewn onto the kids vests
Dawn has supplies at her home and check to see if we need to get any new supplies, will advertise on blog, FB 10 days prior
Ellen will report what she has in the garage – we likely need more brown bags
Peter will complete on line application for event
Charlie will get 25 flyers printed and give them to Shannon for sleeves and she and Linda will post
on Saturday the 25th Linda will place banners on the park signs same day
Use Yard waste containers from Linda, Dawn, Peter, Ellen, Andrew, Casey, Holly

JANE’S WALK MAY 3rd
need to decide the theme, start to finish on Sun March 29th 11am-1p at Steph and Zack’s
be thinking of speakers to invite

14TH NW PARK UPDATE
Shannon to get design from Patrick (Done)
Steph to email Ellen about the person to contact who might help the process

GROUNDSWELL NW ANNUAL MEETING 3.24 6-830p Nordic Heritage Museum
Dawn to be President of Groundswell NW this next year
Shannon is receiving a local hero award

BALLARD OPEN SPACE PLAN
Wil be rolled out at Groundswell NW Annual Meeting.(some kind of) social best ideas for open space projects this year

11TH AVE NW STREET END PROJECT
design done and posted on the East Ballard blog and FB
glitch with permitting with SDOT (update meeting Friday) might need a formal response
check DPD website for public comments/concerns

GREG’S GARDEN
Andrew will let us know when they are permitted and ready for the planters – he’ll know more after their meeting on 3.28

SEATTLE GREENSPACES COALITION
Save our substations meeting March 22 5-7p Sunset Hill Community Club
Shannon will be the steward for the Monroe Substation which is owned by Seattle City Light – ideas needed for space

Hub A Thon April 17 and 18 – opportunity for Hubs, Block Watch, and SNAP groups to apply online – identifying their location
(police have control over the Block watch list and won’t release peeps, and otherwise people haven’t given permission)
Central Ballard meeting at Service center about the ACS drill on May 9th 5-10p
April meeting likely not needed if so will be April 22
