The EBCA has been organizing events around Seattle’s August Night Out for over 5 years now and we’re doing it again this year. There will be food, activities, entertainment (I even heard a rumor about a bouncy house) for all ages. To get to know your neighborhood better, we’re also planning to have a passport you get stamps for from each participating block party you attend that’ll make you eligible for fabulous raffle prizes donated by local businesses. We’re still in the planning stages! You can help by contacting Dawn Hemminger at add your block party to the East Ballard passport and volunteer to help plan the activities. Contact Dawn Hemminger at eastballard@gmail.com.

July 31, 2011   4pm-7pm
Groundswell NW’s Old Fashioned Summer Field Day
Ballard Commons Park, 5701 22nd Ave. NW (just kitty corner from the library)

EBCA’s fiscal sponsor, Groundswell NW, invites you to a “Summer Field Day” at Ballard Commons Park. Built with citizen input from Groundswell NW and Ballard’s open space and neighborhood planning efforts, Ballard Commons Park has been a community asset ever since its dedication in March 2006.  So, bring your blanket and chairs to spread out on the lawn, enjoy a picnic meal provided by QFC, and partake in some old-fashioned outdoor games for all ages! This event is open to the public, so bring your family, friends and neighbors along to enjoy this gem of a neighborhood park and learn more about creating and caring for other green spaces in Ballard. Many thanks to the Ballard On the Park apartments for their planning and financial support.
