Edible Garden Tour Saturday June 26th in East Ballard

The ebca has teamed up with Sustainable Ballard and Groundswell NW to sponsor the second annual Edible Garden Tour next  Saturday June 26th  from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s tour “start with a pot…or start with your lot” will highlight gardens in our very own East Ballard Neighborhood! The tour will demonstrate how growing fruits and vegetables can beautify Ballardites’ environment and feed their families, no matter the size of their garden space.

Maps and tickets will be available on the north side of St. Alphonsus Church, in the parking lot located on Northwest 59th Street between 14th Avenue Northwest and 15th Avenue Northwest.

Tickets are available on the day of the event for $10. The tour is free for children.

The first stop will be the vegetable garden started this year by the fourth-grade students at St. Alphonsus Parish School.

Gardens with espaliered fruit trees, small greenhouses and other special features are clustered within a comfortable walking distance of the starting point.

Come say hi to the ebca and pick up a refreshing drink at our lemonade stand on the NE corner of 14th Ave NW and NW 60th St. We’ll have information about our most recent projects and opportunities to get involved!
